This commitment to blogging this summer has been harder than I thought! Not only is it difficult to scavenge up any internet connection where we live, but I rarely have any time to sit and write! So I apologize for not keeping you all updated, but here comes a novel. They say a picture says a thousand words, so hopefully I can save some time and space by including a lot of pics!
First of all, do you want the good news or the bad news? Ok well the bad news is...I couldn't find a single job. The good news is...I HAVE TWO JOBS! I work 40 hours Monday through Friday every week bouncing from a produce stand in the morning to a frozen yogurt shop in the afternoon. I absolutely love my jobs. Making the switch from one to the next breaks up my day nicely and makes the time fly by! My bossy, Cathy, at the produce stand tells me to call her "Mee-Maw." She is just the cutest thing and so generous- always giving me free fruit and other treats! As for the yogurt place....I guess I just have a knack for fro-yo! (For those of you who don't know...I work at a frozen yogurt shop while at school in Pittsburgh. Razzy Fresh I miss you!).

Some more exciting news: I got baptized in the Atlantic Ocean! I'd never officially been baptized since rededicating my life to Christ in February of 2010, so this was the perfect opportunity to do so!
So when I'm not working or getting baptized, I'm doing other really cool things like outreach on the beach! I've had some more really cool conversations like the one documented here with this boy Morgan. Please pray for him! He really needs God's love!
Morgan is the passionate, curly-blonde boy in the middle. (I'm in orange). |

We have reached the half-way point in our summer spent here. Crazy! That 5 week mark is when all of the staff members who have been helping us, pack up and go home, leaving the project in our hands. Here is a pic of our entire group at the banquet we had the last night the staff was here in Ocean City.
So after a busy and exhausting 5 weeks I really needed a little pick-me-up. Lucky enough, my family planned an awesome vacation to come visit me here! We have had so much fun together this past week! We went to some great restaurants, hit up the boardwalk and even enjoyed a great firework show on the 4th of July together! Love you Mom, Dad and Mac!

Can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store! As always...stay fly followers!
Sounds like a great summer so far! Looks like you and your fam had a blast. I love fro-yo - my favorite way to make it is with a tiny amount of yogurt and a TON of toppings. Mmmmm. See you in August! xoxox
ReplyDeleteWay to go Brooke! Congrats on the dual-job option. It's hard to believe summer's half over. Can't wait to hear some stories! (campfireside?!!!) Love you!
ReplyDeleteBrookie! The salt water taffy your mom brought us is the best ever!!
