Day ONE is done.

Well I made it! I'm here! In ocean city! :) Today was our first full day, and boy was it FULL!  We spent the morning all together ya know doin the ugeee...worshipping, praying, learning...and then BAM- it was off on the never-ending job hunt.

My new friend, Kelsey, and I headed out on the boardwalk.  Now apparently this boardwalk extends about three miles long with businesses up and down left and right.  Actually that's false...depending on which way you are walking the businesses are only to the left and the huge Atlantic Ocean is to the right!!.. (or vice versa). Anyway, it seemed to be a common trend that with every business we walked into and asked, "Hi! Are you hiring at the moment?" with our biggest smiles and happiest tones, they all seemed to inevitably respond with, "No...sorry.  We're all full for the summer."  It's amazing really...with all these businesses and all the people they need to serve, you'd think there'd be ONE job available for me.  But, ya know...there wasn't today.

It was actually quite comical, in a pathetically, unfortunate way.  Kelsey and I literally walked about 26 blocks up the board walk...then 26 blocks back.  Then a whopping 50+ blocks down Baltimore Ave. and stopped in every food service/semi-interesting place we could find.  So more than 100 blocks, a cup of Rita's fudge-brownie flavor ice, and a good cry later...we had filled out THREE applications total.  Three. Three.  So maybe just say a little prayer for us about that whole job front, k? K. Thanks.

I will say, I'm proud to share we remained in great spirits.  Well...rather we relied on the HOLY Spirit to pull us through a challening and trying day.  I'm really not feeling too defeated at the moment, surprisingly.  Gotta trust that God will provide, right?!  And Mom always says, "It only takes one!"  So hopefully next time we connect I will have a job, God-willing...
Stay FLY, followers! :)

  1. I am pretty sure that you will find a job doing to "fax machine" dance on the boardwalk. I would pay millions to see it. Glad you are enjoying your time on the East Coast. I miss you much and look forward to more blogs from you!

-Sincerely a girl who is really missing you in Tianjin, China
